5 Ways to Improve Child Health for Best Learning Performance
Kids Health Status
Provide health care facilities is widely recognized as a basic child right. Health and education strongly relate to each other.  Health condition has great effects on child academic performance, survival, and attainment.
Several studies illustrate that poor health condition is associated with poor academic performance.  Physical and mental health have a great positive impact on school adjustment and achievements. Following five tips help to improve the physical and mental health in childhood.

1. Good Nutrition plan

Healthy food choices improve learning performance and wellbeing. The deficiency of nutrition has negative effects on children capability to learn. It is recognized that nutrition deficiency in school life has negative effects on cognitive development. Nutrition in early childhood relates to normal physical growth and brain development.[1],[2]

2. Control the Consumption of Alcohol, Drug Use, and Smoking

The smoking and use of alcohol are associated with emotional disorders and lower productivity in childhood. (Brook et al, 1999). It is reported that “underage drinking of alcohol is associated with numerous adverse consequences, such as vomiting and coma, liver disease, involvement in road traffic accidents, depression, brain damage, dependency, educational performance, and risky sexual practices.”[3]

3. Create the Friendly Environment at Home

The family violence and home stressful environment have had negative effects on child development. The conflicts between family members can affect the child mental health which can reduce the child ability to learn and concentration. It is a family responsibility to create a friendly and peaceful environment at home.

 Overcome the Anxiety and Depression

Anxiety and depression have had negative effects on child health and learning outcomes. The family must respect the social and emotional needs of the child. It is reported that anxiety is associated with the physical, psychological and behavioral problems which strongly affect child learning ability.[4]

Save the Child from Infections and Diseases

The families try to save their children from infections and diseases. These infections such as malaria can reduce child performance. Chronic diseases and injury also decrease child education performance (NCHS, 1989a, p. 112). The parents must visit the doctor when their children feel some health problems.

It is well documented the poor health condition reduces the child academic and social performance. It is parental and school responsibility to provide the best health facilities to achieve high education stander in early childhood. Improvement of child health is strongly associated with the improvement of child academic achievement and success.
